This R&D area focuses on broadly defined "recycling-oriented society" study, which comprehensively approaches global environmental issues from the perspectives of science and technology, and social science, beyond individual elemental technologies.
Specifically, it encompasses : indicator group development to determine sustainable development, research on how to build new social systems and business models for designing, producing, proliferating and circulating eco-efficient technologies, products and services, research on how to shape environmental epistemic communities.
