RISTEX co-hosted international symposium in Tokyo on July 2010, 'New Innovative Approach to Social Challenges' based on the effort of a series of OECD workshops with British Council.
This symposium focused mainly on addressing social challenges in terms of environment and global warming of Japan and UK.
The National Endowment for Science, Technology and the Arts (NESTA) on the UK side and RISTEX R&D focus area 'Community-Based Actions against Global Warming and Environmental Degradation on the Japanese side made presentations how they have been tackling these issues.
Accordingly, this event reinforced us to realize that holistic and multidisciplinary mind is crucial for innovative approach.
We engaged in vigorous discussion on issues related to case studies at Panel Discussion.
