CRDS Senior Deputy Director-General makes a speech at the 2nd Summit on Science and Technology Enablement for the SDGs (New York, NY, October 17, 2017)

Mr. Takao Kuramochi, Senior Deputy Director-General, Center for Research and Development Strategy (CRDS), participated in a workshop of the 2nd Summit on Science and Technology Enablement for the SDGs organized by the New York Academy of Sciences. At the Partnerships and Proofs of Concept session he made a presentation on JST's domestic and overseas efforts to achieve the SDGs and the status of current research and development support through SATREPS.

tjSTAR (Thomas Jefferson Symposium to Advance Research)(Alexandria, VA, June 6, 2017)

JST held a booth exhbit during tjSTAR (Thomas Jefferson Symposium to Advance Research) at Thomas Jefferson Science and Technology High School in Virginia, one of the nation's leading science high schools. JST introduced therapeutic robot PARO and Ambiguous Objects as research outcomes of CREST. We also distributed the English edition of.jst.s educational magazine "Science Window".

Japan-U.S. Digital Innovation Hub Workshop (Washington, D.C., May 12, 2017)

The Japan-U.S. Digital Innovation Hub Workshop was held at the Japanese Embassy in the United States. Around 60 participants from universities and research institutes in Japan and the United States discussed issues including data science, cyber security, and human resource development through the strengthing of Japan-U.S. relations.

The 57th Sakura Matsuri 2017 - Japanese Street Festival (Washington, D.C., April 8, 2017)

JST participated in this event and ran a joint booth named "SAKURA SCIENCE" with the following organizations as exhibitors (in alphabetical order):

JST President Dr. Michinari Hamaguchi gave a talk at the Howard H. Baker Jr. Center for Public Policy, Toyota Auditorium in the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. We visited the CURENT project at the ERC site and exchanged opinions with university staff.
