SIP (Cross-ministerial Strategic Innovation Promotion Program) is a national program sponsored by the Council for Science, Technology and Innovation (CSTI) of the Government of Japan to realize scientific and technological innovation.
Structural Materials for Innovation (SM4I) is one of its projects to develop strong, light and heat resistant innovative materials aiming for the improvement of energy conversion and usage efficiencies in aircraft and energy industries. It is also expected that the Japanese aircraft industry will be activated by the developed materials technologies.
SIP 'Structural Materials for Innovation' has been completed at the end of March 2019.
