Outline

Memory formation is a dynamic process such that each memory changes its content upon novel experiences. In this project, we focus on the dynamic aspect of memory process in which distinct, but related, information are integrated to generate a novel memory. Neural circuit mechanisms underlying such process will be clarified through analyses on the dynamism of cell assembly and on mathematical circuit models. Furthermore, a novel technique will be developed in which memory formation and retrieval will be artificially controlled.
