The number of people experiencing complex and diverse problems is increasing with factors such as population decline, declining birth rates, an aging population, and the impact of emerging infectious diseases such as COVID-19. However, a comprehensive support system capable of addressing the needs of individuals facing multiple problems and providing attentive responses has not been fully established. By elucidating the mechanism of social isolation and loneliness, we can promote population/high-risk approach that engages individuals preventively before they encounter a range of problems. The ability to visualize the risk of social isolation and loneliness and to clearly identify evaluation methods (such as indicators) is crucial for assessing the effectiveness of the approach. Through the implementation of this program, I hope that a society which does not lead to social isolation and loneliness will be created from a preventive perspective. I am confident that this effort will foster a shift toward an inclusive society, the revitalization of local communities, and the emergence of new forms of human connection.
