Overview

With the goal of drastically reducing the power consumption of information and communication systems, this technology area aims at a paradigm shift from general-purpose computing with high power consumption to low-power computing with limited application domain. Specifically, we will promote research and development of innovative domain-specific non-Von Neumann-type computing architectures and edge chips that apply them, as well as efficient data control technologies to address the problem of data traffic explosion between the edge and the cloud. In addition, in order to save energy in the entire power system, we will promote research and development of innovative architectures that can estimate and predict the status of power system components and human behavior and intentions through analysis of data collected by IoT sensors.
