Research Theme

Focusing on nitric oxide and related gaseous mediators, the project aims to realize ultrafine temporal and spatial control of these cellular mediators to elucidate biological significance of them. It is considered to be achieved in combination of novel two-photon-operating organelle-specific chemical donors of gaseous mediators with focused pulse laser technologies. The outcomes of this project are expected to deepen the understanding of biology of these mediators, and to be potentially applicable to therapeutic methods for the diseases involving the mediators.
