Outline of Research Theme
Distinct localized electronic states “edge states” of graphite are known to appear at the zigzag edge and carbon atoms around defects. In this research, I will create a new superior catalyst having large catalytic activity, selectivity and durability by chemically and physically controlling the position, density and energy of the edge states to substitute the rare metal of Platinum.
