Outline of Research Theme
Non toxic and inexpensive quantum dots (ubiquitous quantum dots) are developed for solar cell and/or solar fuel applications. Ubiquitous quantum dots are synthesized by a facile solution based chemical process, and their size is controlled to show significant quantum size effect. I also modify the surface of quantum dots to achieve high efficient photoenergy conversion and long-term durability. My goal is to develop the efficient photoenergy system, which is comparable to conventional solar cell or photosynthesis.
