Development of intelligent bio-devices is attempted. DNA/RNA enzymes and RNA aptamers that are activated in response to physiological K+ ions are rationally designed based on structural knowledge, and their activities are examined both in vitro and in vivo. Artificial ion channel composed of DNA is also rationally designed, and its activity is examined.
