I will construct a molecular device composed of a single polydiacetylene molecular wire. In order to induce a state transition of the molecular wire into metallic, the charge carriers are injected directly into the polydiacetylene chain. The carrier injections should make conductivity control possible. The achievement of this work should not only develop a single molecular device with new function but also manifest the uncharted nature of the one-dimensional molecular wire.
