Practical Training for Technology Transfer Personnel

Background and Purpose

This training aims to enhance the expertise of talents (the "selection specialists") who engage in technology transfer and industry–academic collaborations and build a network of human resources to achieve the practical application of research findings obtained by universities and other research institutions. It also intends to strengthen the talent development system to nurture universities' technology transfer personnel and establish a diffusion model of technology transfer management.

Comprehensive Licensing 100–200 hours

A TLO, as an instructor/mentor, provides advice and instruction on the entire technology transfer operations, from invention creation to licensing agreements. Participants will receive inputs from the mentor based on individual projects they have undertaken in their work. This course is like a full-course menu; participants will acquire comprehensive technology transfer skills through mentorship sessions and lectures. The application period has ended.
Licensing Mentorship Less than 50 hours
(To be completed over 6–9 months; the training schedule is adjusted as needed.)
A TLO, as an instructor/mentor, provides advice and instruction on the individual projects the participants have undertaken in their work. This course is like an à la carte menu. The training will focus on participants’ needs for specific skills and touch on the practical operations of technology transfer, from invention creation to licensing agreements. The application period has ended.
Collaborative Research Mentorship 10–20 hours
(The training schedule is adjusted as needed, completed over 4–5 months. Maximum 20 hours.)
A specialist with extensive experience working for universities will serve as an instructor/mentor and provide advice and instruction on individual projects the participants have undertaken in their work. This course is like à la carte menu. The training will focus on participants’ needs for specific skills concerning practical operations in collaborative research with firms, such as discovering and combining the seeds of technology in project management.
