Research Promotion and Management Course
For the systematic learning of basic knowledge for the promotion of industry–academia collaborations and technology transfer:
This course offers opportunities to acquire the basic knowledge needed to promote and manage R&D projects. The participants will learn key concepts to panoramically grasp the series of operations associated with assisting research and industry-academia collaborations, and engage in promoting a project with the outlook of a potential proposal for the next step.
Curriculum
With this curriculum, participants will learn the common challenges and know-hows at the forefront of industry–academia collaborations as well as the latest relevant topics about such collaborations.

- Fundamentals of research promotion
- Participants will learn the fundamentals of the operations related to research promotion through understanding the significance and mission of industry–academia collaborations for universities and other research institutions.

- IP strategies for universities
- Participants will learn the significance of IP, as well as the concept and future of IP strategies for universities, concerning the derivation of research findings.

- Efforts to improve research quality
- Participants will learn a potential course of promoting and assisting institutions’ research and industry–academia collaborations by understanding the current efforts taken to enhance research quality.

- Collaborative research agreements
- Participants will learn what to keep in mind when collaborating with firms and how to negotiate with them.

- Risk management
- Participants will learn the overview of risk management in industry-academia collaboration activities, and precautions to take when engaging in research promotion.
