Research Results
The aim of this project is to realize highly functional organic single-electron transistors, where the light is used as the gate signal. The device consists of a nanogap electrode and a gold nanoparticle functionalized by photo-active molecules. The device can be applied to the analog-digital convertor and multi-functional logic gate. The use of excellent optical properties of an organic molecule in single-electron transistors will create a new device beyond CMOS.
