Miwako Doi is Auditor of National Institute of Information and Communications Technology, Executive Director of NARA Institute of Science and Technology, Member of the Board of Nomura Research Institute, and Member of the Board of Isetan Mitsukoshi Holdings.
She received her B.E. and　M.E. and Ph.D. degrees in 1977, 1979 and 2002 from the Univ. of Tokyo. She joined Toshiba in 1979 and had been a researcher of human interface technology and involved in developing a portable Japanese word processor, a machine translation system, a CG chip for video games, a pedestrian navigation system for mobile phones, and so on over 35 years.
She is an invited professor of Osaka University, Guest Professor of Tokyo University of Agriculture and Technology and others She got 23 prizes: 　the Commendation for Science and Technology by the Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology, Award of the Minister of Internal Affairs and Communications, the Achievement Award, the Society Activity Contribution Award, the Best Author award from the Information Processing Society of Japan, a prize of National Commendation for Invention, and so on. She authored and co-authored 13 books, over 300 patents, over 300 technical papers on multimedia information system, human interface design, and so on.

Dr. Masahiko Inami took up his current position as professor at the University of Tokyo after working at the University of Electro-Communications and Keio University. His interests include “JIZAI body editing technology,” the Augmented Human, and entertainment engineering. He has received several awards, including TIME Magazine’s “Coolest Invention of the Year” award and the Young Scientist Award from the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science, and Technology (MEXT). He is also the co-representative of the Superhuman Sports Society and a director of the VR Consortium. His latest book is called “Birth of the Superhuman! Human Beings Beyond Science Fiction (NHK Publishing, Inc).

Domenico Prattichizzo received the M.S. degree in electronics engineering and the Ph.D. degree in robotics and automation from the University of Pisa, Italy, in 1991 and 1995, respectively. In 1994, he was a Visiting Scientist at the MIT AI Lab, Cambridge, MA, USA.
Professor of Robotics at University of Siena, Italy and Scientific Scientist at Istituto Italiano di Tecnologia, in Genova, Italy. Fellow of the IEEE and President of the Eurohaptics Society. Co-founder of WEART, a startup on VR/AR applications. Member of the Editorial Advisory Board for Springer Series on Touch and Haptic Systems (since 2018) and Associate Editor for Biomedical Robotics (Frontiers in Robotics and AI) (since 2014). From 2015 to 2016 he has been Associate Editor of the IEEE Robotics and Automation Letters. From 2007 to 2013 he has been Co-Editor in Chief of the IEEE Transactions on Haptics. He participated in the foundation of the journal in 2007. From 2003 to 2007 he has been Associate Editor of the IEEE Transactions on Robotics and IEEE Transactions on Control Systems Technologies. From 2006 to 2010 he has been Chair of the Italian Chapter of the IEEE RAS, awarded with the “2009 IEEE RAS Chapter of the Year Award”. He has been invited plenary/keynote speaker at many conferences, including the Cross-Cutting Challenges at IEEE World Haptics Conference in 2019 and IEEE Haptic Symposium in 2018, at the International Conference AsiaHaptics in 2016 and at the IEEE International Conference on Robotics and Automation (ICRA) in 2016. He has been involved in different robotics/haptics projects and from 2013 to 2017 he was the Coordinator of the EU IP collaborative project “WEARHAP: WEARable HAPtics for Humans and Robots”.

In 1981, he was graduated from Osaka University, Faculty of Engineering, and joined NEC Corporation. From 1983 he engaged in development of system LSI for telecomunication systems as the engineer, development of IP switch/router systems as the director. And from 2006, he lead the R&D of the next generation networking and computing technologies as the general manager of NEC System Platforms Research Laboratories. From 2011, he supports the NEC R&D management in the technology strategy and vision making as executive chief engineer. And from 2016, he also lead the R&D of the brain inspired artificial intelligence system as the professor of Graduated School of Information Science & Technology and NEC brain inspired computing alliance laboratories in Osaka University.

Takeo Watanabe is the Fred M. Seed Chair and Distinguished Professor at Department of Cognitive, Linguistic and Psychological Sciences, the Carney Institute of Neuroscience and the Unit of Psychiatry in the Medical School, of Brown University. He was awarded PhD in University of Tokyo. Then he moved to Harvard University as Research Associate. He became Assistant to Full Professor in Boston University until he moved to Brown University in 2012. In 2014 he was promoted to the current position. He is a world leading scientist of visual plasticity. He has examined roles of awareness, attention, reward, sleep, and aging in perceptual learning and visual plasticity using various methods including behavioral measurements, fMRI, and magnetic resonance spectroscopy. He has also conducted online neurofeedback research. He has published 180 papers including 3 papers in Nature, 2 papers in Science, 2 papers in Nature Neuroscience, 2 papers in Neuron, 6 papers in PNAS and 8 papers in Current Biology, 3 papers in Nature Communications and 3 papers in Nature Human Behavior. He served the Sensory, Perceptual and Cognitive Review Board in NIH for 6 years. In 2018, he was awarded the International Special Award, the highest award given by the Japanese Psychological Association.

Norihiro HAGITA received B.E., M.E., and Ph.D. degrees in electrical engineering from Keio University in 1976, 1978, and 1986. He is currently the chair and professor of Art Science department in Osaka University of Arts, and the director and ATR fellow of Norihiro Hagita Laboratories in Advanced Telecommunications Research Institute International(ATR) . From 2014, he is serving as the research supervisor on intelligent information processing systems creating co-experience knowledge and wisdom with human-machine harmonious collaboration in Japan Science and Technology agency (JST). He managed several research projects on communication scene analysis with audition, speech, and vision, image recognition and understanding, machine translation in NTT in 1978-2001, and human-robot interaction, multi-modal interfaces, ambient intelligence, pattern recognition, machine learning, and augmented reality in ATR in 2001-2019. He produced over 80 international journal papers and 240 international conference papers. He served as a project leader for several national research and development projects on networked robotics, human-robot interaction and ambient intelligence from 2002 to 2019 with Japanese companies and universities. He is also the member of Science Council of Japan and serving as the chair on ambient intelligence committee discussing informational surviving technology towards centenarian society.

Over the course of his ten plus year tenure at XPRIZE, David has orchestrated numerous incentivized prize competitions which leverage emerging exponential technologies and a crowd-source platform to drive technological breakthroughs and positive social impact.
Prior to joining XPRIZE, David was part of a small team at Sony Pictures Television responsible for overseeing the production of all television movie and mini-series worldwide for the studio. David has also coordinated a number of award-winning network and cable TV programs, feature films as well as music videos and commercials.
David holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Television Production with a Minor in Business Administration from Loyola Marymount University and earned his Project Management Certification from University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). Teruo Higashino received his BS, MS and Ph.D. degree in Information and Computer Sciences from Osaka University, Japan in 1979, 1981 and 1984, respectively. He joined the faculty of Osaka University in 1984, and became a Professor in 1999. Since 2002, he has been leading Mobile Computing Laboratory, Graduate School of Information Science and Technology, Osaka University. He is studying about algorithms, software and design methodologies concerning with mobile/ubiquitous computing systems such as localization/behavior estimation of pedestrians/crowds, ITS, IT technology for disaster mitigation, Cyber Physical Systems (CPS) and Big-Data science for constructing future smart and connected communities. He has served on General/Program Chairs of several international conferences such as IEEE ICNP, P2P, ICDCS and so on. He has served on Associate Editors of IEEE Trans. on Mobile Computing and ACM Trans. on Computing for Healthcare. He served on Senior Program Officer, Japan Society for the Promotion of Science (JSPS) from 2013 to 2016, Vice President of Information Processing Society of Japan (IPSJ) from 2016 to 2018, and Council Member of Science Council of Japan (SCJ) from 2014 to 2020. He obtained the 2018 Commendation for Science and Technology by the Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology. He is IEEE Senior Member and Fellow of Information Processing Society of Japan.

Ken Calvert is Division Director for Computer and Network Systems in the Computer and Information Science and Engineering (CISE) Directorate at the National Science Foundation. He is there on temporary assignment (since May 2016) from the University of Kentucky, where he is Gartner Group Professor in Network Engineering and former Chair of the Department of Computer Science. His research interests include future Internet architecture, software-defined networking, and network security. He received his Ph.D. in computer science from the University of Texas at Austin. He holds a M.S. in computer science from Stanford University and a B.S. in computer science and engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Prior to his appointment at the University of Kentucky, he was a Member of the Technical Staff at Bell Laboratories in Holmdel, NJ, and served on the faculty in the College of Computing at the Georgia Institute of Technology. He is an IEEE Fellow and a member of the ACM.

Hideyuki Tokuda is President of NICT and Professor Emeritus of Keio University, Japan. He obtained his B.S. (1975), M.S. (1977) from Keio University and Ph.D. (Computer Science) (1983) from University of Waterloo, Canada, respectively. After he completed Ph.D. in 1983, he joined School of Computer Science, Carnegie Mellon University and worked on distributed real-time operating systems such as Real-Time Mach, the ARTS Kernel. In 1990, he came back to Keio University. His research and teaching interests include Ubiquitous Computing Systems, OS, Sensor Networks, IoT, Cyber-Physical Systems and Smart Cities. He was a Professor of the Faculty of Environment and Information Studies and Executive Vice President of Keio. He was also an advisor to NISC (National center of Incident readiness and Strategy for Cybersecurity).
Because of his research contribution, he was awarded Motorola Foundation Award, IBM Faculty Award, METI Award, MIC Award, KEIO-Gijyuku Award, IPSJ Achievement Award, KEIO-Fukuzawa Award, Information Security Cultural Award, MEXT Award in Japan.
He is a member of Science Council of Japan, IPSJ Fellow, JSSST Fellow, JST Special Appointment Fellow, JFES Fellow, a chairman of Smart IoT Acceleration Forum and a President of Connected Consumer Device Security Council and a member of ACM, IEEE, IPSJ, IEICE and JSSST.
