Overview

The government’s response to the new coronavirus (COVID-19) has affected every corner of people’s lives. How well or poorly have Japan and other countries responded to such a public health crisis, and how can we do better in the future?
In this project, we will:
1) Investigate the ethical, legal, and social issues (ELSI) in public health crises, including but not limited to COVID-19, and the responses to them. 2) Organize and archive the issues. 3) Present a methodology for the social implementation of humanities and social sciences research on trans-scientific issues by sharing and discussing these results with those involved, namely researchers, policymakers, the news media, and other people.
