Overview

While the smartization of society that is progressing in various regions contributes to the optimization and efficiency of various infrastructures, it also causes "WE (Human bond and community) problems," such as the impoverishment and mobism of communities that straddle real and virtual worlds. This project addresses the WE problem, which is an ELSI associated with the smartification of communities. One of the causes of the WE problem is the self-sufficient view of human beings as individuals who can live and survive on their own, which has been fostered by the smartization, and this has made the significance and necessity of WE invisible. In order to explore and propose specific measures for the smartization that avoid exacerbating the self-sufficient individual view and contribute to the revitalization of real and virtual WE, this project will develop a generic parameter system to evaluate the impact of smartization on communities. Furthermore, through fieldworks in Echizen City, Fukui Prefecture, and along the Odakyu rail line and etc, we will work to demonstrate this parameter system and smart tools and management methods that contribute to solving WE problems.
