Contact point for receiving allegations

JST has established the following contact point for receiving allegations about research misconduct and misappropriation of research funds in projects related to JST, in accordance with the Guidelines for Responding to Misconduct in Research (Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology on August 26, 2014) and the Guidelines on the Management and Audit of Public Research Funds at Research Institutions (Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology on February 15, 2007, revised February 1, 2021).

1. Please be aware that any research misconduct and misappropriation of funds by researchers belonging to a research institution will be investigated by the concerned research institution as a general rule.

2. When receiving an allegation, we will confirm the name / affiliation / contact of the complainant, the researcher / research group that committed the misconduct, the state of misconduct and improper use, the rational basis for misconduct and improper use, the names of JST projects involving the misconduct and the relevant competitive funds used, and whether or not there is any allegations against research institutions other than JST.
   In addition, please be aware in advance of the cases as follows: the complainant may be asked to cooperate in the investigation; the complainant may have his/her name published or be subject to dismissal or criminal charges if the investigation determines that the allegation is judged to have been lodged out of malice; and the details of the allegation may be disclosed to other organizations to facilitate the allegation-related investigations.
