Advancing the understanding of the linkage between ecological and adaptive dynamics in
predator-prey systems
Organisms exhibit various types of adaptation in response to the changes of their living environment.
Adaptation is expected to influence birth and death processes of the responding organisms, which
should result in the alternation of population dynamics. By combining mathematical modelling based
on realistic biology and experimental tests using laboratory microcosms, this study explores unknown
roles of adaptations in determining population dynamic patterns.
