第2回共生進化機構先端セミナーをオンライン開催しました。

海産動物における多様な共生関係の研究で知られる後藤龍太郎博士(京都大学)にご講演いただきました。

講演要旨:寄生や共生といった生物間の相互作用は、しばしば形態・行動・生態の進化を促し、新規形質や極端な表現形を産み出す原動力となっている。海洋には多種多様な寄生・共生者が生息しているが、それらがいかにして、自由生活性の祖先から起源し、多様化を遂げ、奇抜な表現形を獲得するに至ったかはよくわかっていないことが多い。発表者は、他の生物に寄生・共生して暮らす海産無脊椎動物、特に貝類などを主な対象として、その多様性・適応・進化の解明に取り組んできた。本発表では、寄生・共生貝類の研究や、ユムシ類とその共生生物の多様性についての研究など、海産無脊椎動物における寄生・共生の話題を中心に、最近行っている研究について紹介する予定である。
