Spintronics, which exploits the spin states of electrons in solids, is a technology crucial for beyond-CMOS devices. In this study, spin currents due to spin waves in nano-structured dielectrics are explored. By utilizing the strong interaction between a spin current and an electric field in dielectric materials, the spin-wave spin currents will realize the coherent and low-loss information transmission which can be controlled in terms of light and/or an electric field.
