The ocean is related to the SDGs in many ways. In addition to "Let's protect the abundance of the sea" (SDGs14), it is deeply related to the climate of the entire earth (SDGs13), and also provides us with a lot of our food (SDGs2). How does the "blessings of the sea" come about, and what kind of changes are taking place in the ocean today? Knowing how the ocean works and how it changes is the first step in thinking about what we can do to protect the ocean in the future.
In order to deepen our understanding of the ocean, we will conduct observational experiments of various plankton collected from the sea of Odaiba, and plastics hidden in actual beach sand. We will also present posters and videos that introduce the basic knowledge about global warming and the ocean. Let’s think together about the ocean and the SDGs on the basis of these experiments and materials.
