Taro Komatsu
Professor, the Department of Education in the Faculty of Human Sciences /Director, the Center for Global Education and Discovery at Sophia University

He previously worked as an education specialist for the UNESCO Paris and Sarajevo offices, the UN Mission in Kosovo, and the Japanese International Cooperation Agency (JICA) in Pakistan and Afghanistan. His research focuses on education policy and administration in developing nations and post-conflict societies and the role of education in affecting social cohesion and peace.

Hideyo Kunieda
Senior Fellow of Japan Science and Technology Agency(JST)

In 1982, Prof. Kunieda obtained Ph. D from the School of Science, Nagoya University. He has been involved in many satellite missions for X-ray astronomy. In 2010 and 2011, he was the President of Astronomical Society of Japan. After being the Vice-President in charge of research of Nagoya University from 2012 through 2017, he moved to JST to operate one of the areas of JST-MIRAI program. His area of R&D program is entitled “Realization of a Sustainable Society”.

Akira Fukabori
AVATAR Program Director, ANA Digital Design Lab, ANA HOLDINGS INC.

He and his colleague has teamed up to launch multiple initiatives within ANA. Working beyond organizational boundaries, he has launched ANA’s cause-related Blue Wing program and the airline’s crowdfunding platform “WonderFLY.” He is also the prize developers behind the ANA AVATAR XPRIZE concept which won top honors at XPRIZE Visioneers 2016. He is passionate about creating business models that positively impact humanity and have the potential to reach all 7.5 billion people on earth.

As a human right lawyer, she leads important discussions about the impact of AI on business and social good. She holds key positions sucn as the expert advisory board of All Party Parliamentary Group on AI at UK Parliament, Vice Chair of IEEE “Global Initiative on Ethical Considerations in the Design of AI and Autonomous Systems”, etc.

Hank Kune
Founding Partner of the Future Center Alliance(FCA)

His work focuses on systemic and open innovation, developing innovation-enabling environments, supporting entrepreneurial mindset, and creating conditions for dialogue that leads to renewal.He is one of the pioneers of the Aalto Camp for Societal Innovation and has been influential in establishing and running Future Centers in several countries.

Martha Russell
Executive Director of mediaX at Stanford University and Senior Research Scholar at the H-STAR Institute

Her background spans a range of business development, innovation and technology-transfer initiatives, including founding Stanford’s Innovation Ecosystems Network, which uses data-driven network analysis to study relationship-based ecosystems for innovation.

Michiel Kolman
Senior Vice President-Information Industry Relations And President International Publishers Association Diversity and Inclusion in the publishing at Elsevier

He is the executive sponsor of Elsevier Pride and was listed two years in a row in the FT’s Top100 ranking of most influential LGBT senior executives. Since joining Elsevier in 1995, he has held various core publishing roles in Amsterdam and Tokyo and was Managing Director in Frankfurt, Germany. For 10 years, he spearheaded academic relations for Elsevier, building up a global network of ambassadors engaged in strategic discussions with research leaders.

He has been not only trying to tackle the challenging issue in brain science as an associate professor in NAIST but also trying to do social activities to make our OMOSHIROI (happy and fun) society and future. This year, he act as the chair of JST Science Agora Promotion Committee.
