Overview

This project will focus on the field of regenerative medicine and cell therapy, an emerging technology, and will examine the requirements for fair and equitable medical treatment that is performed to improve safety and efficacy and commoditization under The Act on the Safety of Regenerative Medicine (ASRM). Specifically, the committee will examine methodologies for establishing the ethical standards necessary for research parties to conduct research and development in collaboration with exploratory medicine in an autonomous and independent manner in cooperation with society, while ensuring patient protection with the highest priority on safety and health, including patient consent, appropriate provision of information to society, and the adequacy of procedures. The outcome of this project is to improve the quality of decision-making and policy formation not only in regenerative medicine, but also in society as a whole, and to empirically build a model for sustainable promotion of medical innovation that takes into account the interests of society as a whole.
