Outline

The transgenerational inheritance of epigenctic characters occur in plants. An epigenetic mutant has been found to inherit acquired traits ONLY under certain light conditions. This research will examine the molecular mechanism underlying the light-induced transgenerational inheritance of epigenetic characters and acuired traits. Further, the research will explore its application of the mechanism to crops. One of my ultimate goals is to generate robust plants which can suvive regardless of any light conditions.
