Outline
Strigolactones (SLs) function as signaling molecules for commencing symbiosis with arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi and as important plant hormones regulating shoot and root architectures. The scarcity and chemical instability of SLs make relavant studies difficult. I would like to develop techniques to optimize arbuscular mycorrhizal symbiosis in agricultural fields through regulation of SL production and exudation.
