- [Takahiko Yanagitani] Piezoelectric transformer resonator for energy harvesting
Department of Electrical Engineering and Bioscience, Waseda University

Big data analysis using wireless passive sensor network gives the solution for various social problems, for example, healthcare, patient monitoring in hospitals, and structural health monitoring of civil infrastructure. Battery charging is the major problem to realize the passive sensor network. Therefore, miniature devices for harvesting the energy from the environmental electromagnetic wave are required. In this study, I propose the polarization inverted piezoelectric transformer which acts in the VHF to UHF ranges to amplify the weak electromagnetic wave.
