Fabrication of Super Strong and Lightweight Carbon Wires using a Graphene-Fusing Additive
Abstract
The goal of this project is to develop an efficient technique, which is needed for producing an active site on the surface of carbon nanotubes (CNTs) extensively and cross-linking between individual nanotubes, is able to extend primary mechanical properties of individual CNT to bulk structure. I focus on the fabrication of super strong and lightweight carbon wires that are composed of bundled CNT fibers cross-linking each CNT with a graphene-fusing additive.
