Nanostructuring of bulk thermoelectric materials utilizing phase transformations |
Thermoelectric conversion technology enables us to convert waste heat to electricity. Thermoelectric materials are required to have seemingly contradictory characteristics such as high electrical conductivity and low thermal conductivity. The objective of this research is to enhance thermoelectric figure of merit due to nanostructuring of bulk thermoelectric materials utilizing phase transformations. Through this research, we will establish simple fabrication processes of thermoelectric materials with excellent thermoelectric properties, which is expected to lead to common use of thermoelectric technology in large industrial fields. |
