Strategic International Collaborative Research Program (SICORP) Information on Japan-EU Joint Call (Horizon 2020 Open Call)

The Japan Science and Technology Agency (JST), through its Strategic International Collaborative Research Program (SICORP), will support Japanese researchers who participate in the Building a Low-Carbon, Climate Resilient Future: Secure, Clean and Efficient Energy call under the Horizon 2020 Framework Program.

■Support Offered by JST

JST is planning to support Japanese researchers who participate in the above Horizon 2020 call topic. The total amount of funding available on the Japanese side for each funded project is anticipated to amount to approximately 50 million JPY of which 30% of awarded funding must cover indirect costs. More details are available in "Documents for Application" below (only in Japanese).

JST supports a maximum of 3 projects in this call.

■Applicant Eligibility

Researchers based in Japanese universities, research institutions and equivalent organizations are eligible to apply for funding to the call LC-SC3-RES-25-2020. Each of EU-Japan consortium must include as beneficiary at least one legal entity established in Japan.

■Application Procedures

HORIZON 2020:LC-SC3-RES-25-2020

Applicants who seek research funding from JST in a EU-Japan consortium must submit an application to JST through the e-Rad system separately from the proposal submitted by the EU-side within Horizon 2020. More details of the application procedure are available in the "Documents for Application" below.

Deadline: Tuesday, September 1, 2020, 17:00 (Japan time)

Applicants on the Japanese side are advised to communicate with their respective EU-side consortium leaders for completing all the necessary registration procedures for applying to the corresponding HORIZON 2020 call for proposals in advance. ■Conditions of Selection

Funding by JST will be awarded to proposals which are successfully selected in a process jointly undertaken by Japan and the EU.
