The Japan Science and Technology Agency (JST) is accepting proposals for bilateral collaborative research projects under the theme of COVID-19 Research in Non-Medical Sciences between Japan and the United States, United Kingdom, France and Canada.

Details of Support

Research projects selected for funding in this call will receive support for a period of approximately 11 months totaling no more than 7,800,000 JPY including direct and indirect costs. Examples of direct costs include research materials, personnel costs, travel costs and events.JST will support up to 10 projects in this call.

Monday, February 1, 2021, 17:00 (Japan time)

Application Procedure

Proposals should be prepared jointly by the Japan-based and foreign-based Principal Investigators and must be submitted by the Japan-based Principal Investigator to the e-Rad platform (https://www.e-rad.go.jp/), including the application forms, legal compliance checklist and compliance agreement.

Notes

  • The compliance agreement requires the seal of the institutional representative. In the case of a university or college, the institutional representative is normally the president, not the dean or head of department.
  • Research institutions which are national, prefectural or municipal organizations are obliged to implement necessary budgetary measures before entering into research contracts for which they are responsible. Please confirm this with your institution and contact JST before submitting the application.
