The 10th Anniversary Fukuoka Active Aging Conference in Asia Pacific 2016(ACAP 2016)
Fukuoka Convention Center, Fukuoka (March 5 to 6, 2016)

The 10th Anniversary Fukuoka Active Aging Conference in Asia Pacific 2016(ACAP 2016) was held on 5(Sat)-6(Sun) March at Fukuoka-city. Dr. Takeo Ogawa(Project Director, Community design by Functional Integration for 2030) was a chairperson, the steering committee of this conference. RISTEX was one of the sponsorship, and the members of Redesigning Communities for Aged Society R&D Focus Area participated in this conference.
From 5 March to 6 March, poster session was held, and 16 posters of 15 R&D projects & 1 Focus Area were posted on as special frame(reference below).

At 6 March, Prof. Hiroko Akiyama, this area Director, spoke about this R&D focus area activities at Symposium Ⅲ: Designing communities for an Aged Society, and participated in the panel discussion. Prof. Akiyama insisted the importance of the Networking for creating & sharing solutions for Aged Society. In addition, it was very impressive that the concept of “Intergeneration” was talked about repeatedly in the symposium.

In the World Café in the afternoon, 3 themes below were discussed by international members.
1. Perspective of high technological services for older persons
2. Perspective of the international long-term care training center
3. Perspective of the solution center for aged society
3rd perspective is Future prospect of this R&D focus area. So a variety of opinions in this future prospect was acquired.

About 150 people from overseas, particular in Asia, participated in the conference. This means that rapidly aging of society is a common issue in Asian countries.
