Hajime Kayanne researches earth systems and coral reefs. He received his Ph.D. in geography from the University of Tokyo. He has served as Chief Scientist at the Geological Survey of Japan, and Professor of Earth & Planetary Science at the University of Tokyo. He currently serves as Chair of the UTokyo Ocean Alliance, and Executive Secretary at the Japanese Coral Reef Society.
2005年東北大学大学院工学研究科博士課程後期修了、博士(工学)、一般財団法人電力中央研究所特別契約研究員等を経て、14年より現職。研究テーマは、積雪・氷河の融解過程やモニタリング等。
Yoshihiro Asaoka received his Ph.D. in engineering from Tohoku University in 2005. After working for the Atmospheric and Marine Environment Sector at the Central Research Institute of Electric Power Industry, he became Project Assistant Professor at Tohoku University in 2009. He currently researches glacial and snow melting.
1987年名古屋大学大学院理学研究科大気水圏科学専攻博士課程後期満了、89年理学博士。京都大学生態学研究センター助教授等を経て2003年より現職。生物圏と地球環境の相互作用系の解明を目指し、シベリアやモンゴルなどでフィールドワークと分析を行っている。
Atsuko Sugimoto received her Ph.D. from Nagoya University. She has since held academic positions at Kyoto University and the University of Miami before joining Hokkaido University in 2003. She is currently studying forest ecosystems, and has done field work in both Siberia and Mongolia. She is currently a member of the Science Council of Japan, and National Committee Chair to the International Arctic Science Committee.
1975年東京大学大学院理学系研究科地球物理学専攻博士課程中退、77年理学博士。九州大学助教授、東京大学教授等を経て、2012年より現職。国際科学会議(ICSU)アジア太平洋地域委員会委員。日中科学技術協定海洋プログラム主査、ユネスコ政府間海洋学委員会(IOC)政府代表などを歴任。エルニーニョ現象の数理モデルを世界で初めて提唱、海洋変動予測システム、気候変動予測システムの開発と実用化を主導。
Toshio Yamagata researches ocean fluctuation and climate change prediction. He was the first person to propose a mathematical model on the El Nino effect. He received a D.S. in geophysics from the University of Tokyo. He has held academic positions at Kyushu University, Princeton University, and served as Professor at the University of Tokyo before joining JAMSTEC in 2009. He serves as delegation of the National Committee for UNESCO's Intergovernmental Oceanographic Commission.

Tohru Nakashizuka received his Ph.D. from Osaka City University. He was previously head research officer at the Japan International Research Center for Agricultural Sciences, Professor at the Kyoto University Center for Ecological Research, and Professor at the Research Institute for Humanity and Nature. He has served as chair to the Japanese Forest Society, and the International Union of Forest Research Organizations.

Romain Murenzi received his Ph.D. in physics from the Catholic University of Louvain. He has served as Professor of physics at Clark Atlanta University in the USA. Between 2001 and 2009, he served as the Minister of Science and Technology in Rwanda. In 2010 became director of the Center for Science, Technology, and Sustainable Development at the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS), and Visiting Professor at the University of Maryland. He was appointed executive director of TWAS in April 2011.
南アフリカ出身。2005年から南アフリカ共和国科学技術省にて政府開発援助助監督、両国関係助監督、開発パートナーシップ副長官。2013年から現職。現在、南アフリカ・ダ・ヴィンチ研究所の修士課程にてテクノロジーとイノベーションマネジメントの研究を行っている。
Eudy Mabuza joined the South African Department of Science and Technology in 2005, and has since served as assistant director of the Official Development Assistance, assistant director of Bilateral Relations, deputy director of Development and Partnerships before becoming a Senior Science and Technology Representative.
私は、日本科学未来館で科学コミュニケーターとして働いています。科学コミュニケーターは最先端の科学技術と市民とをつなげる役割を担っています。私の専門は農学です。大学生の時から海外で持続可能な農業と環境問題について学びたいと考えていました。そこで、様々な生物や植物の存在するメキシコの大学院へ進みました。修士課程では、持続可能な農業を通じた温室効果ガス排出削減について学びました。
I work at the National Museum of Emerging Science and Innovation (Miraikan) as a Science Communicator. I specialize in agronomy, and am interested in learning about sustainable agriculture and environment in foreign countries. I went to graduate school in Mexico where biodiversity is rich and studied greenhouse gas emission reduction through sustainable agriculture for my Master’s degree.
