- [Shuhei Kusumoto] Functionalization of Alkanes by Metal–Ligand Cooperation
Graduate School of Engineering, Department of Chemistry and Biotechnology, The University of Tokyo
Assistant Professor
In this research, dehydrogenative oxyfunctionallization of lower alkanes such as methane, ethane etc. will be investigated.
The goal in particular is to produce methanol, ethanol, acetone etc. from lower alkanes and water releasing dihydrogen.
Cooperative function by metal and ligands, heterolytic dihydrogen formation and facile electron transfer between metal and ligands, would enable these challenging transformations.
