Outline

Anomalous Nernst effect is a thermoelectric phenomenon in magnetic materials, in which electric field appears to the orthogonal direction to the heat flow. Therefore, it is possible to generate electric power from the 3-dimensional heat source such as tube shape heat pipe by just rolling magnetic wire spirally. In this project, I will explore magnetic materials showing large anomalous Nernst effect and fabricate the magnetic ribbon using a melt-spun technique for innovative energy harvesting applications.
