Outline

Scanning near field optical microscopy (SNOM) enables us to beat diffraction limit while keeping the advantages of using light. In this study, a new scheme of “quantum-SNOM” will be developed by combining quantum entangled light and quantum measurement into SNOM. This quantum-SNOM will improve the signal-light detection sensitivity over the classical limit, and also open up new applications which will bring an innovation for nano-imaging using light.
