Outline

My goal is to create a “smarter”, and “more intelligent” built environment by utilizing the range of technologies/methodologies borne out of user interface research. Working with architects and urban planners, my research plan includes developing buildings that can dynamically react and adapt to human needs, augmented reality technologies that offer the experience of freely customizable environments, and 3D printing techniques that allow automatic fabrication of architecture and landscapes. My research will give rise to a new, bottom-up style of urbanism that addresses the numerous challenges faced by cities in the 21st century.
