- [Hiroshi Teramoto] Application of singularity theory to material sciences
Research Institute for Electronic Science, Hokkaido University
Associatet Professor
We develop a theory to classify and control materials such as topological insulators in solid-state physics and non-adiabatic transitions in molecular science in terms of electron energy level crossings. Our theory is based on the classification of electron energy level crossings in terms of the theory of singularity. We seek for applications of our theory to wide variety of material design and control involving spintronics to photo-stable materials.
