Infectious diseases have a large impact on society, which makes the understanding of epidemic dynamics and the control of infectious diseases of paramount importance. Epidemiological dynamics are typically analyzed using epidemiological data, however this epidemiological data alone does not provide sufficient information for the control of infectious diseases. The aim of this research is to gain a quantitative understanding of the association between epidemiological dynamics and non-epidemiological data, e.g. using genetic sequence data from pathogens or host behavioral data, through mathematical modeling intended to break the limits of current epidemiological data analysis.
