Outline

The amygdala and bed nucleus of the stria terminalis are small structures located in deep brain regions, contributing to the regulation and expression of emotion. The aim of this study is to elucidate how each neuron, constituting of microcircuit in these regions, responds to emotional stimuli in a distinctive manner. Furthermore, to elucidate the regulatory mechanisms for emotion, I attempt to unravel the functional and molecular changes of each neuron, along with changes in the emotional responses and behavior of animals.
