ACT-I PROGRAM OUTLINE
The purpose of ACT-I is finding and developing superior young researchers to address important problems facing our country. Under the management principles of the Research Area defined by the Research Supervisor, we find researchers who have challenging ideas and support their researches aimed at creating new values that lead to scientific and technological innovation. With advice and guidance from the Research Supervisor and Research Area Advisors, young researchers advance based on their unique ideas. As they communicate with researchers from different fields inside or outside of the Research Area, young researchers attempt to establish individualities as researchers while forming a network of researchers.
Program Operation Period: FY2016 ~ FY2021
STRATEGIC OBJECTIVES
“Creation of integration technology to enable utilizations of diverse and massive data using Artificial Intelligence core technologies rapidly growing in sophistication and complexity”
“Development of intelligent information processing technology to realize creative collaboration between human and machines”
“Creation, advancement, and systematization of innovative information technologies and their underlying mathematical methodologies for obtaining new knowledge and insight from use of big data across different fields.”
RESEARCH SUPERVISOR
INFORMATION AND FUTURE” RESEARCH AREA OUTLINE
In this research area, we are supporting young informatics researchers with a pioneering spirit, pursuing research and development that will lead to the creation of new value. Specifically, we seek challenging research plans based on new ideas in a broad range of specialist fields concerned with informatics, including artificial intelligence, big data, IoT, and cyber-security. We believe it is important to undertake a wide variety of research and development based on original concepts that will change science, industry, society and culture in future.
In undertaking this research activity, we will aggregate research and development that results in future development and value creation, providing a place for young researchers to inspire each other. We will foster research personnel who will implement advanced research that contributes to future society and promote among researchers the development of human networks that will bond them together for future collaborations. This will produce researchers with a more commanding presence, raising the hope for a brighter future society.
This research area will operate as part of the Advanced Integrated Intelligence Platform project (AIP project) of the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology.
