Outline
Plants acquire nutrients from the soils. As nutrient conditions in the fields are diverse and vary, plants need to adapt themselves to diverse nutrient conditions so as to survive and bear offspring. In this project, we find Arabidopsis ecotypes and rice cultivars that differentially adapt themselves to distinct nutrient conditions. We also scrutinize the regulatory network controlling uptake and utilization of nutrients in the Arabidopsis ecotypes and rice cultivars and then reveal molecular mechanisms underlying fabulous adaptation ability of plants to diverse nutrient conditions in the fields.
