Outline

This research develops innovative data analysis methods and proposes a novel framework to data science. The central mathematical concept is persistent homology. Topology, representation theory, probability theory, and statistics are combined together around this concept, and we establish mathematical theory for quantifying shape of data. Our mathematical results are applied into structural analysis of soft matters. We develop new descriptors for geometric characterizations of soft matters, and study several challenging basic researches such as high functional glass developments and protein foldings.
