Message

Japan is the world's most aged country, the highly aged society. Japan is faced with a society in which the values that served it through the 20th century no longer apply. Those values can be expressed through the words progress, development, advancement, and growth. Healthcare also faces a period of great change. Saving and extending lives while facing the fact that death follows immediately after aging were the goals. A shift from medical care ruled by single-minded devotion to cures to medical care that supports people's lives and from complete curing at hospitals to healthcare supported by entire communities is needed. Home medical care will be at the core of the development of healthcare that develops in whole communities.
