Optical Trapping and Assembling of Functional Molecules in Single Neurons Reveals the Hierarchical Structures of Synapses and Neuronal Networks

Brain is flexible biological system in which the neuronal network activity is dynamically regulated by a large number of functional molecules in the synaptic region.

In this study, I will investigate the spatio-temporal dynamics of synaptic molecules in single neurons by using optical trapping and assembling system.

The experimental and numerical analyses will reveal the hierarchical structure between molecular behaviors and neuronal network dynamics, and finally establish the information processing model in the brain.
