Outline

This study is aimed at developing innovative catalytic systems using novel oxyl-radical complexes of late transition-metals as key reactive speceis for oxidation of gaseous alkane substrates including methane under mild conditions. To accomplish this objective, we will try to develop (1) efficient methods for the generation of such reactive oxyl-radical complexes using molecular oxygen, (2) catalytic systems equipped with an efficient substrate binding site for gaseous alkanes, and (3) reaction systems for the oxidation of gaseous substrates.
