Outline

This research aims to develop high performance thermoelectric materials, which convert heat presented in the natural environment into electricity with high efficiency. A method for suppressing thermal conductivity will be established by using lone-pairs and large amplitude of atomic vibrations, synergistically. High power factor will be achieved by optimizing electronic structure via simulation. New thermoelectric materials exhibiting high performance at a room temperature will be developed under close coordination with experimental and theoretical works.
