Outline

At the forefront of optical science, strongly coupled dynamics of electrons described by quantum theory and electromagnetic fields of light described by Maxwell equations are explored. In this research, we develop a novel first-principles computational method in optical science that describes dynamics of light-wave and electrons simultaneously, and apply it to problems in the frontiers of optical science such as attosecond science, laser processing, and near-field optical excitation. The software developed through this research will be made open to the public, and properly prepared so that researchers in optical science can use it for various purposes.
