Outline

This study innovates a new photonic technology based on microfabrication that utilizes biogenic crystals from fish. We clarify the highly efficient photonic functions of fish guanine crystals, and use this information to develop a microstructure that can control light at extremely low powers. Exploring efficient light booster in bio-reflectors, biotechnological production of bio-reflector and microfabrication for photonic device will be investigated. Our developing methods for the magnetic orientation of bio-reflectors will be completed in this study, and it is expected to obtain an advanced medical-photonic system that mimics the light control technique used by fish.
